The Cayman Islands
are a British Overseas Territory in the western Caribbean Sea,
which comprises 3 islands : Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.
The Cayman Islands were sighted by Christopher Columbus in 1503.
He give the name Las Tortugas to the islands because of their large number of sea turtles.
After the visiting of Sir Francis Drake in 1586, the islands get the name Cayman.
Until 1962, the islands were governed as a part of the Colony of Jamaica, now they are a separate Crown colony.
The climate of the islands is tropical with a wet season of warm, rainy summers and
dry but cool winters. Unfortunately, from June til November, is hurricane season.

The Cayman Islands are a great place for scuba diving, snorkelling and the swimming
